Avdiivka Coke provides summer vacation vouchers to 2,400 employees and their families in 2013

26 September 2013

Metinvest Group’s Avdiivka Coke Plant allocated about UAH 4.53 million to subsidize summer vacations for 2,400 employees, their children, and retired plant workers.

Destinations included health centers in Truskavets, Khmelnyk, and Slavyansk and recreation centers in Svyatohorsk, Alushta, Berdyansk and Odesa. Employees paid 10-20% of the price for their stay (approximately UAH 2,000-7,000).

Children's health center Danko (Yasinovata, Donetsk region) hosted the plant’s children, as usual. Program beneficiaries included 365 children of Avdiivka Coke employees and needy children from Avdiivka. The cost of 21 day stays for plant children was about UAH 220.

Before the summer season, Danko repaired its dining room, dormitories, and roof, and renovated its movie theater.  The center also installed playgrounds with fairy tale characters, fire pits, and new flower gardens.

The center organized theatrical performances and art groups every day. Children were also able to participate in team sports at football pitches and basketball courts.

Young Metinvest employees were involved in the educational portion of the children’s stays.

“A Day of Metinvest” was also held, during which games and quests helped children to learn new and interesting things about their parent’s professions, Avdiivka Coke Plant, and Metinvest.

“We understand how important it is to provide our employees and their children a full-fledged summer vacation. Thus, every year we invest to make summer rest more available, comfortable and healthy for Avdiivka Coke employees,” said Avdiivka Coke General Director Musa Magomedov.

Every year in September the plant sends its retired workers to the recreation center Solnechniy Bereg. This year 568 retired workers went, at a cost to them of UAH 224.
