Metinvest is an international vertically integrated metal and mining company summarized the contest of environment projects between the senior high school pupils entitled “Healthy Environment is Everybody’s Business”. The contest was organized by Avdiivka Coke Plant in cooperation with the municipal education department within the corporate social framework of Metinvest Group “Healthy Environment is Everybody’s Business”.
11 research works were introduced to take part in the contest of environment projects where the pupils opened a question aimed to dispose domestic waste, to make green the territory of the town, to retain water resources and to clean mining waters and to use the alternative sources of fuel. As the pictures to their researches the senior high school pupils used video slides, background music, theatrical performances. The representatives of 7 schools in Avdiivka town took part in the environment contest.
Regarding the results of project presentations the evaluating commission where the representatives of PJSC “Avdiivka Coke” of Metinvest Group and the specialists of municipal education department in Avdiivka town were included entitled the contest winners. The first place was divided between the pupils of school no.7 for the best research project work “Effective use and water resources retaining” and the pupils of school no.2 for the best practical studies “Along the path of clean sources”. The pupils of school no.4 were awarded with the third place for the project “Effective junk including the recycling”.
As well as in the category “For complex approach to solve the problem regarding the recycling the wastes with mercury content” the winner was the pupil from school No.1, in the category “Qualitative theoretical project preparation concerning the effective usage and water resources retaining” the winner was the pupil from school No.5.
The authors of projects-winners, persons who had been nominated, were awarded with the diplomas and valuable prizes. All the members of the contest received the recognition gifts.
The contest to determine the best environment project “Healthy Environment is Everybody’s Business” has started in Avdiivka in April this year. The primary goal of the project is to involve the younger generation in research work to improve environment, to form the environment culture concept between the pupils, to bring up the pro-active approach to protect environment, to develop the will and immersiveness of teenagers to solve the ecological problems.
