School football team for children and young people in Avdiivka town created within the framework of social corporate program of Metinvest “Development of football for children and young people” in partnership with FC “Schakhtar” was the first at football competition for children to win the cup “Golden autumn – 2011” in Sevastopol.
As the winner of the competition the school football team of Avdiivka town received the letter of invitation to take part in international competition for children “People’s Friendship” which is planned to be in spring 2012 where approximately one hundred teams from all over the world will be gathered.
Football school for children in Avdiivka town has been opened in spring this year as part of Palace of Culture, Techniques and Sports of PJSC “Avdiivka Coke Plant”. At the moment more than 80 children go to this school, 4 football teams were created consisting of the boys aged from 9 to 13 years.
Besides financing the current school activity, support trainers and medicine staff, purchasing the required sports equipment, Metinvest invests in expanding and improvement of training and sports base. To provide this the football ground is being built now that meets the requirements of new modern standards. Besides in partnership with town council the municipal stadium “Koksokhimik” is now under reconstruction.
Now it is possible for talented boys to enter the football school in Avdiivka town aged up to 11.
